Prior to Al Jazeera, she worked as a contributing reporter with the New York Times in Beirut, and as a freelance journalist, covering Syria and Lebanon.
From 2009 to 2011, Dalal was a researcher at the United Nations Development Program in Beirut, working on Lebanese-Palestinian relations and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. She contributed to the creation of “The Common Space Initiative,” an independent and inclusive dialogue space for Lebanon.
Dalal has published several of her articles in international and middle eastern media . In 2013, she was a finalist for the Samir Kassir Award for her article on Lebanon’s Jews. Dalal is fluent in Arabic, English, French and Spanish.
